Government launched the integrated Chakshu portal for reporting fraud calls under its Sanchar Sathi initiative.
The portal enables people to report fraud calls and messages like fake lottery prize announcements, job offers, etc.
The government prevented fraud cases of Rs 1000 crore and froze Rs 1,008 crore linked to fraudulent transactions.
People can report cases of numbers leaked besides fraud calls on the portal for action against the culprit.
The Department of Telecom also unveiled the Digital Intelligence Platform that will coordinate with law enforcement agencies and other financial agencies.
The reported numbers will be investigated and legal actions will be taken.
He said the new platforms will help curb any kind of fraudulent means and misuse of the communications system.
