Chief Minister's Girl Child Protection Scheme is a scheme run by the Tamil Nadu state government to combat gender discrimination against female children by providing them with money in the form of fixed deposits. Specifically launched to promote girls' education and improve the child-sex ratio, the scheme offers two deposit options. The scheme has safeguards to promote enrollment and retention of the girl child in school at least up to the intermediate level because the child will only receive the money after providing proof that she attended the class 10 examination.

The first scheme provides Rs. 50,000 for one girl child and the second scheme provides Rs. 25,000 each for two girl children until they turn 18.
