Centre's ambitious health insurance project Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana has been integrated with CMCHIS, and the scheme is called PMJAY-CMCHIS.
Tamil Nadu residents who can get an income certificate from the revenue authorities showing their family income below Rs 1,20,000, can enroll in the scheme to avail cashless healthcare facilities in network hospitals. The health plan covers your hospitalization costs, but only for medical procedures allowed under the Chief Minister Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme. For a premium of Rs 849 per family per annum, a sum insured of Rs 5 lakh is available to each family per policy year.
Diagnostic tests, and follow-up treatments, are also covered under the scheme. 1090 procedures, 8 follow-up procedures and 52 diagnostic procedures are covered under CMCHIS in 800 Government and 900 Private empaneled hospitals.
The family member should carry an original Ration Card plus photocopy, the Aadhaar card of all members to be included under the card, and the original income certificate and visit a verification centre to get enrolled in the scheme.
