Ford layoffs are here and as per reports, may impact close to 4,000 jobs. As per updates, these job cuts at Ford will be witnessed across Europe over next three years, primarily due to rising costs.

According to a Reuters report, the layoffs at Ford are also being done as the company is aiming towards a leaner structure “as it pivots production to electric vehicles.” In addition to this, the mass layoffs are mostly expected across development and administration departments.

The report also details out the number of job cuts at various sites of Ford. To explain – around 2,300 employees may be sacked at Ford’s Cologne and Aachen sites in Germany, around 1,300 in the United Kingdom (UK) and roughly 200 layoffs in the rest of Europe.

Ford layoffs come as a shock to many as before this, in January, it was reported that in a worst-case scenario, the company wouldn’t see more than 2,500 job cuts. However, now, with close to 4,000 employees expected to be laid off, uncertainty has set it.
