During the 1990s, as the demand for the product increased, the company started its distribution across Rajasthan.

India consumed close to 2.3 million metric tons of groundnut seed oil in 2021. The south Asian country was the largest importer of this oil variety worldwide, as published by Statista Research Department, Mar 22, 2022.

When Shyam started in 1984, he knew that the choice to live a healthy lifestyle and eat right wasn’t just a trend. It was a transformation people looked at making for the long term. So he set out on a journey to constantly work towards innovation and development to improve the groundnut oil.

So to prevent duplicacy, the company started to provide tin in corrugated box packaging. “Sona Sikka”, the company is the first brand in the history of the edible oil market to offer packages in corrugated boxes since 1997. The brand introduced aluminium caps on its 15-litre packaging to ensure quality and superiority. “Sona Sikka” is the first brand to introduce aluminium caps in the edible oil industry.

Further, the natural antioxidants present in the oil are known to be effective in reducing cholesterol levels.
