Singularity Growth Opportunities Fund II Invests In 5 Companies

Singularity’s fund allocation strategy involves deploying up to 40-50 per cent of the corpus in the growth stage, up to 20-30 per cent in the Late-stage and upto 20 per cent in Early growth stage companies.

Singularity Growth, an operator-investor-led growth PE platform has announced 5 investments of Rs 400 Crore in 5 companies and committed investments in 1 company.   

The investments are from the recently launched Rs 1500+500 crore Singularity Growth Opportunities Fund II. The Fund is strategically designed to capitalise on emerging growth opportunities across Energy transition, Consumer, Financial Services, Enterprise Software, and Manufacturing nurturing high-growth companies. 

The investments committed are: 

Lohum: A major producer of sustainable battery raw materials through recycling and refining. 

Akshayakalpa: An organic milk and Milk products Company.

Classic Legend: A fast-growing Premium bikes company with brands Jawa and Yezdi.

Qucev: An OEM developing Electric Commercial Vehicles.

Edville DC: A data Centre EPC player in India, Middle East and Africa. 

Singularity’s fund allocation strategy involves deploying up to 40-50 per cent of the corpus in growth-stage, upto 20-30 per cent in Late-stage and upto 20 per cent in Early growth stage companies, the investment firm said in a statement. "This portfolio construct is designed to solve for faster DPI and return of capital from the 5th year onwards. The fund will drawdown capital committed over a 2.5-3 year period."   

Singularity Growth Opportunities Fund II has thematic growth equity investment approach and invests in capital-efficient companies in sunrise/high growth sectors such as Energy Transition, Consumer, Financial Services, Enterprise Software, and differentiated Manufacturing. Singularity aims to invest in 16-18 companies with amounts ranging from Rs 75 crore to Rs 200 crore.

In Sept 2023, Singularity concluded the first close of the Rs 1,500+500 crore fund focused on growth to late-stage companies at Rs 500 crore. Singularity Growth Opportunities Fund II has received strong interest from institutions and Large LPs across domains like Tech, Infra, Real Estate, Specialty chemicals, media etc.
