Postman Acquires Orbit To Enhance API Management Platform

Postman, an API management platform for enterprises, has announced its acquisition of Orbit, a tool used by companies to expand communities across various forums, chat platforms, and social channels. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Over the past four years, Orbit has assisted leading developer companies in managing and expanding their communities on platforms such as Discord, Slack, and GitHub, according to a blog post by Postman on Thursday.

The Orbit team will now collaborate with Postman to integrate community features into the Postman Public API Network, enabling publishers and consumers to engage actively.

With a valuation of $5.6 billion, the company is the most valuable software-as-a-service (SaaS) company in India. It offers an API communication platform that is utilised by 500,000 organizations and over 30 million developers.

The Orbit team will help API distributors expand their communities, boost usage of their APIs, and receive direct input from network users under the direction of Noah Schwartz, who recently joined Postman from Amazon Web Services to manage the Public API Network, the blog post continued.
