Mintoak Names New Leaders To Drive International Expansion

Mintoak, a merchant software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for payments and commerce enablement, has announced the name of new leaders as part of its global expansion efforts. Chayan Hazra, Marlyn Jose, and Jyoti Shankar Mishra will join the leadership team of Mintoak.

While Mintoak has already forayed into markets like Africa and the Middle East, this expansion comes at a time when India's digital payments success serves as a global case study, making it a compelling strategic move for Mintoak to leverage its expertise and insights in these emerging markets, as per a company statement.

Chayan Hazra is stepping into the role of Head of Growth. Hazra will play a pivotal role in driving Mintoak's international expansion, particularly in digital payments, regulatory compliance, and forging strategic partnerships. His background includes leadership roles at PineLabs, Mastercard, HDFC Bank, and Deutsche Bank.

Joining as Head of Business Development, Africa, Marlyn Jose brings over 15 years of invaluable experience in banking and payments to the table. Jose will help with the growth of the company across the African continent. In the past, she spearheaded strategy and revenue-generating initiatives for payment acceptance solutions at Mastercard EEMEA.

Jyoti Shankar Mishra, who is joining the role of Head of Business Development for the Middle East, brings with him more than two decades of banking and insurance experience across the region. Mishra will help drive Mintoak's expansion in this dynamic market.

Founded in 2017, Mintoak is a merchant SaaS platform for banks, enabling them to expand their payment proposition for merchants by integrating digital business solutions and leveraging the enriched engagement to cross-sell and deliver financial products.

Mintoak has built a modularized, cloud-native, API-first payments platform that allows banks and merchant acquirers across India, Africa, and the Middle East to deploy and rapidly scale value-added services (payments, lending, and engagement) to their millions of SME customers.

HDFC Bank, State Bank of India, Axis Bank, YES Bank in India, and globally, Absa and Burgan Bank are among the merchant acquirers that have implemented Mintoak's suite of merchant payment and commerce enablement solutions. Mintoak raised a $20 million Series A funding round last year, led by PayPal Ventures, with participation from British International Investment, HDFC Bank, and Pravega Ventures.
