Former ITC Director Nakul Anand Invests in Hospitality Staffing Platform Shiftz

Staffing platform in the hospitality sector, Shiftz has raised investment from Nakul Anand, the recently retired director of ITC Group, news platform ET reported. Anand has been a major force in the hospitality and tourism industry with a career spanning over 4 decades.

Established in 2023, the company has collaborated with renowned brands like Taj Hotels, Ginger Hotels, Sarovar Hotels and Resorts, Barista Coffee, and Chalet Hotels, among others. Utilising an AI-powered discovery engine, Shiftz facilitates companies in identifying the most suitable on-demand workers, ensuring each profile undergoes thorough background checks and detailed verification.

“People are the backbone of the hospitality industry but unfortunately there has been no advancements in this process for our industry. When I met Rachit and Pranav and saw their value proposition, I really liked the approach and solution, and the hard work put into bringing their platform Shiftz to this level. I believe the ease of hiring and giving transparency to the business owners is a real winner here. I believe in the team and their way of solving this problem and there is definitely a huge opportunity which is there in front of us not only in India but globally,” Anand said.

Commenting on this occasion, Rachit Mathur, CEO, Shiftz, said, “The hospitality and tourism industry had taken one of the most severe hits during the pandemic. It’s again gaining momentum and we are going to make the most out of this under the visionary guidance of Nakul Anand. His investment in Shiftz is a prestigious moment for all of us and we look forward to learning from his extensive experience in leading the industry.”

As per a Crisil Ratings report, the hospitality sector is projected to grow between 11-13 percent in FY 2025, driven by a consistent rise in both domestic and international tourism. Anand's investment aligns perfectly with this outlook, as the organisation seeks to expand in line with the industry's anticipated growth trajectory.
