Aditya Agarwal Steps Down As Cleartrip CFO; Akshat Mishra Takes Over As Head Of Business Finance

Agarwal will remain with Cleartrip for a few months to facilitate a smooth transition.

Cleartrip, a Flipkart company, announced that Aditya Agarwal will be stepping down from his role as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) owing to personal reasons. Aditya's departure comes after nine years of service at Cleartrip, wherein he was instrumental in shaping the company's financial strategy and organizational growth. 

During his tenure, Agarwal made significant contributions across multiple roles, serving as CFO since 2020 and previously as Head of Corporate Strategy and M&A. He played a pivotal role during the successful merger and subsequent integration of Cleartrip into the Flipkart Group, as per a company statement.

Akshat Mishra will take over as the new Head of Business Finance. Mishra has two years of experience in the Cleartrip Business Finance team and eight years within the Flipkart Group. Agarwal will remain with Cleartrip for a few months to facilitate a smooth transition. 

Launched in July 2006, Cleartrip Pvt Ltd., a Flipkart company, is a growing online travel technology company. In April 2021, Flipkart acquired a majority stake in Cleartrip. Cleartrip recently emerged as the No. 2 OTA player, as per a study by VIDEC. 

With industry-first offerings including ClearChoice Plus, ClearChoice Max, and Cancel for No Reason’, Cleartrip has a clear vision to provide innovative solutions in the OTA segment, as per a company statement. Recently, the company also appointed Tavleen Bhatia as the new chief marketing and revenue officer.

Bhatia has more than fifteen years of experience, and she has worked for brands such as Lakme, Dove, and Sunsilk. The company also onboarded MS Dhoni as its brand ambassador. As per the Economic Times, Dhoni said, “In my career, I continue to make tough decisions every day, but with Cleartrip, decision-making is easy and straightforward.”
