Urban Company, a technology platform that offers services at home, has released the 6th edition of the UC Partner Earnings Index for H2 CY23. The report reveals that the top 20 per cent of partners in the company earned an average of Rs 42,792 per month, net of all commissions and other related costs in H2 CY23. This is approximately 50 per cent more than entry-level IT jobs in India

According to the latest NCAER report published in August 2023, gig workers on food delivery platforms earn an average of Rs 13,581 monthly, net of all costs, after an active long shift. “Urban Company Service Partners earn over 82% more than gig workers on food delivery platforms,” reads a company statement. 

The report has been audited by the audit firm JC Bhalla & Company. It also highlighted several other points about earnings, including the fact that the net earnings of service partners delivering more than 30 services in a month were Rs 33,469 per month. 

According to the report, partner earnings have increased on average by 16 per cent from October-November-December (OND) CY21 to OND CY23. 

Hourly earnings for female partners 

When it comes to the hourly earnings of service partners for H2 CY23, the report showed that female partners earn 23 per cent more than their male counterparts on the platform. While the average hourly earnings of female partners net of all commissions, fees, travel, and product costs are Rs 363, for male partners it is Rs 294. 

Simultaneously, the report claims that the company made steady investments in social protection for service partners over CY 2023. It says, “In CY23, over 1900 service partners benefitted from the life, accidental, and health insurance covers, with over Rs 5.51 crore disbursed as insurance claims in CY 2023.” 

The company said in a statement that it also disbursed Rs 31.16 crore worth of loans, including personal loans and service kit loans, to Urban Company Service Partners via third-party non-banking financial corporations (NBFCs) in CY23.
