The 8th edition of Swiggy Dineout's Great Indian Restaurant Festival (GIRF) saw over 3.5 million diners collectively save more than ₹100 crore on dining out. This year, the festival featured more than 80 eateries across 37 cities, offering FLAT 50 per cent off and an additional 15 per cent savings when using HDFC Bank Credit Cards. The festival witnessed more than 22 lakh deals being availed of and 576 table reservations per hour.
Swapnil Bajpai, Head at Swiggy Dineout, said, "The festival has introduced a wide range of new restaurants, offering diners exciting culinary adventures while enjoying savings worth a whopping Rs 100+ crore."
GIRF 2024 also set a few other records. For instance, the highest single bill during the festival was recorded in Delhi, where a diner paid Rs. 2,48,929. Similarly, a foodie from Bangalore seized the opportunity to purchase an impressive 101 deals, relishing a feast fit for a king daily!
A user from Hyderabad spent a hefty sum of Rs. 3,68,889, making it the highest amount paid by a diner throughout the festival. Valentine's Week emerged as the pinnacle of dining experiences during the festival, with a staggering 39,599 deals availed and Rs. 1.96 crore saved, as per the company statement.
In May 2022, Swiggy acquired Dineout from Times Internet for $200 million. The acquisition led to the integration of Swiggy with Dineout in more than 20 cities. Recently, Swiggy Instamart also joined forces with Park+, a FASTag distribution platform, to deliver IndusInd Bank FASTag to Swiggy Instamart users in under 10 minutes. With this tie-up, customers can now enjoy the convenience of having FASTag delivered directly to their doorstep. The FASTags will be available to users on Swiggy Instamart across 29 cities.
