Protectt.ai, a Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) firm delivering the Mobile App Security platform on RASP, has established a Technology Leadership Advisory Board (TLAB) to provide strategic guidance to the company's management, shore up innovation in mobile security, and enable more contribution to the rapidly growing mobile app ecosystem. The Board will assist in developing strategies to build world-class products and scale business globally.

Sunita Handa, Principal Strategy Advisor at Protectt.ai, has been appointed Chairman of the Technology Leadership Advisory Board. Dr. V. N. Sastry, Professor and Head Mobile and Social Media Banking Lab, IDRBT, Hyderabad; Guhan Muthuswamy, co-founder at Mindgate Solutions Private Limited; and Navaneethan M, senior cyber security leader, have been onboarded as members of the TLAB.

Manish Mimani, Founder & CEO, Protectt.ai, said, “Under the guidance of TLAB, we aim to scale up our product innovation, market-ready mobile app security suite of products, and expand our global footprints.”

Protectt.ai’s Leadership Advisory Board will strive to advance the Indian market's Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) space, revolutionising security through artificial intelligence, as per a company statement.

Navaneethan M, senior cyber security leader, said, “At the 1930 helpline run by the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, there were 700,000 complaints of online fraud in April 2023 alone. This makes it critical to focus on building advanced defense mechanisms and is essential to instill user trust and maintain the integrity of mobile app ecosystems.”

The digital rails on which India is leaping ahead have, at their core, the penetration of mobile phones. As people become used to the convenience of mobile app usage, the digital advantage cannot be allowed to become a liability due to security incidents. Protectt.ai is contributing to combating the risks posed by ever-evolving cyber threats, according to a company statement.

Cyber security firm Check Point says that the number of cyber attacks in the country increased by 15 per cent in 2023. Within APAC, India was the second most targeted region, says Check Point. No doubt, the cybersecurity market in India is expected to account for 5 per cent of the global market by 2028, as per the Data Security Council of India (DSCI). Protectt.ai will be facing competition from companies such as Rubrik Inc., PingSafe, and others that are focussed on strengthening cyber security.
