Senior citizens, women, and differently-abled people from economically weaker households are eligible for the pension.
Seniors above the age of 60 residing in UP and have a net income of less than Rs 46,000 in rural and Rs 56,000 in urban areas are eligible.
Seniors, destitute women, widows and people with disabilities get a monthly pension of Rs 500. Those affected by leprosy get Rs 2,500.
The scheme aims to provide financial security to people living below the poverty line.
