Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana is a scheme of the Bihar government. Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided for education to girls from economically weak families.
In this scheme the government provides financial assistance to girls. Only two daughters of the family can avail the benefit of the scheme. The scheme is for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category.
An amount of up to Rs. 2000 is given on the birth of a girl child followed by Rs 1000 after one year. Rs.3700 is given for uniform from class 1 to 12 and Rs.50,000 on passing graduation.
Girl students must have obtained graduation or equivalent degree from recognized institutions or universities located in the state of Bihar.
For applying one has to go to the website of Bihar Government - ekalyan.bih.nic.in/ and then click on CM Kanya Utthan Yojana. After this information required is filled.
Documents required for the scheme are Birth certificate, Aadhar card, Voter ID card of parents, 12th mark sheet and Passport size photo.
