Every member of the Employees Provident Fund i.e. EPF is given a 12-digit number, which is called Universal Account Number (UAN).
The first way is to get help from the company where one works. Many companies also give UAN information on the salary slips of their employees. By this, one can get the Universal Account Number directly by looking at salary slips.
If UAN is not mentioned on the salary slip or one is facing any problem in getting UAN from the employer, then you can do this directly through the UAN portal.
Go to the UAN portal. From there, on the home page, one finds 'Know Your UAN' written in the right corner. On the next page, fill in the mobile number and captcha and click on request OTP. Fill in the OTP and get UAN on the registered mobile number.
In order to activate the UAN, go to the EPFO portal, on the home page, under 'Our Services', click on 'For Employees'. After this, 'Member UAN/Online Services (OCS/OTCP)' will be visible under the 'Services' section. Click on it. On the next page click on 'Activate UAN' written, and click on it.
After clicking fill in your UAN, name, mobile number, email ID and captcha. After this fill in complete details to get the OTP. Within a short time, one will receive a UAN and password on a registered mobile number. Using these, one will be able to avail of all the online services by logging into the EPFO portal.
