Capitol Point — India’s biggest automated multi-level parking facility in Delhi
If you’re driving by Capitol Point, in central Delhi, you would think this is either a new corporate office or one of the several new malls cropping up in the city. Actually, it’s India’s biggest automated multi-level parking facility. The 11-storied (including the basement), Rs 100-crore project is the result of a public-private partnership between New Delhi Municipal Corporation and DLF. Spread on a total area of 65,504 sq m, the parking lot has 28 commercial units on the ground and first floor. The basement and the eight levels between the second and ninth floor is a car park for 1,408 vehicles. The parking bays are equipped with elevators, ropes and pedals that raise the vehicle on a platform for better space utilisation. The parking fee is Rs 10 per hour but can be subsidised if the user purchases a membership card. Sarojini Nagar in south Delhi has a similar styled parking lot but not the same scale.
